Prospective seminar: The Land and Cooperl

A forward-looking seminar to anticipate tomorrow's food needs.

Strategy, innovation, sustainable development:

What action plans are in place for agriculture, livestock farming, and the agri-food industries?

On February 25, during a forward-looking seminar organized by The Land and Cooperl, several presentations by experts from various fields provided an overview of general trends in agriculture and food for the period 2030-2050. Beyond the major issues identified, such as land use, resilience to climate change, and global food security, this overview allowed all participants to reflect on the future of animal production at all stages of the supply chain: from farm to fork.

This seminar was held in person for Cooperl teams and via videoconference for guests and anyone else wishing to participate.

During the day, Cooperl Group employees and students from The Land's B5 School put their collective intelligence to work on six themes: customers, members, employees, animals, the planet, and territories. The discussions held during the day helped shape the roadmap for The Land and the Cooperl cooperative for the coming years.

Following Jean-Marc Esnault's introduction, several experts spoke throughout the morning to discuss various topics:

  • Chantal Le Mouel from the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food, and the Environment (INRAE): land use and global food security in 2050.
  • Hervé Guyomard from the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food, and the Environment (INRAE): the place of animal production in the European Union.
  • Hervé Lejeune from the General Council for Food, Agriculture, and Rural Areas (CGAAER): French agriculture in 2030 and 2050.
  • Pascale Hebel from Credoc (the Center for Research on the Study and Observation of Living Conditions): European diets in 2030.
  • Sébastien Abis from Club Demeter: strategic transitions and socially responsible business.
  • Carole Bonanni from Rennes School of Business: CSR and its strategic innovation tool.
  • Emmanuel Commault, CEO of Cooperl: Cooperl's CSR strategy.
