The Coqs d'Or de la Nouvelle Ruralité is a competition that honors men and women who, through their talent and entrepreneurial spirit, demonstrate that our rural areas are modern and pioneers of innovation. Their initiatives will undoubtedly give rise to a number of solutions to the major societal challenges we face, including the environment, energy, well-being, and sustainable production.

The aim of this competition is to reward initiatives, innovations, and outstanding businesses in rural areas in four areas: Environment, Entrepreneurship, Social Cohesion, and Culture.

Are you a company, association, collective, etc., and have you carried out an initiative, created an event, or developed a remarkable activity with a significant impact on rural areas? Then apply!

Allocation

The winners of the four categories will benefit from significant media coverage. The ultimate goal will be to promote their company or start-up project through our network of mentors, coaches, entrepreneurs, and influencers.

The Coq d'Or prize for the best initiative will be awarded to:

  • Skills sponsorship: human or material resources that can be mobilized within The Land ecosystem for a maximum value of €10,000. Examples: provision of professional or technical premises, access to training programs, support, prospective studies, communication, etc.

Validity period: 1 year from the date of the awards ceremony

The members of the jury


Aurélie ROUSSEAU

With over 20 years of experience in national and regional television, Aurélie Rousseau has been Managing Director of TVR, a television channel in Ille-et-Vilaine, since 2015.

She is currently President of OuestMédiaLab, a cluster bringing together media and communication players in western France to discuss innovation issues.

She was also Vice-President of the Regional Cultural Council, an advisory body to elected representatives in the Brittany region on issues relating to culture, heritage, and regional languages, between 2015 and 2022.


Elena MANERU

After a career in human resources at three different companies, including Canal+, Elena Maneru became president of the Réseau Femmes de Bretagne (Women of Brittany Network). This association was created in 2014 and is based on mutual aid, solidarity, and exchange. Femmes de Bretagne is recognized as one of the most active networks promoting female entrepreneurship in France.

In 2020, Elena Maneru founded M180, a company that promotes socially useful professions (cleaning, home help, etc.) that are in high demand as part of a CSR approach. The company also offers training courses to raise awareness among workers about best practices and help them take better care of themselves.


Jacques DELANOË

After a 25-year career in communications alongside Jacques Seguela at the Havas agency, Jacques Delanoë turned the page and returned to Rennes in 2010. He began by advising several major business leaders, then two years later returned to business as a director of Stade Rennais FC, becoming its president in November 2017.

Jacques Delanoë is also a director of the Nominoë endowment fund at Rennes University Hospital and co-founder of YAO!

Deeply involved in the Breton business world, Jacques Delanoë has always been proud of his rural roots and his interest in the countryside.


Jean-Luc MARTIN

After years of volunteering at the Vieilles Charrues festival, Jean Luc Martin joined the board in 1997. In 2002, he became co-president with Jean Phillipe Quignon, then in 2013 he became president.

In addition to his activities for the festival, Jean Luc Martin also runs SAS Tell, a company that digitizes and digitalizes the experience and expertise of its employees.

Loïc HENAFF

Loïc Henaff began his career in marketing at Kraft Jacobs Suchard, then at Cadbury France and Cadbury Schweppes Australia as export marketing manager and brand manager.

In 2005, he joined Jean Henaff SA to manage sales and became CEO of the group in 2021.

Since 2016, he has also been president of Produit en Bretagne, an association that promotes the expertise of Breton companies and their products. In addition to his other roles, he is also a regional councilor for Brittany.

Jean-Marc ESNAULT

Jean-Marc Esnault is CEO of The Land and founding president of the La Terre et les Hommes endowment fund and the Terre d’Avenir think tank. A media personality, he is a regular contributor to the local press.

He recently wrote the book Bienvenue dans la nouvelle ruralité, partons à la reconquête de nos campagnes(Welcome to the new rurality: let's reclaim our countryside), in which the CEO of The Land shares his ideas on land use planning, the environment, agriculture, renewable energy, and local commerce.

Sebastien GROSMAITRE

After studying at the Lille School of Journalism and then at IGR-IAE in Rennes, Sebastien Grosmaitre joined Ouest France.

He is currently editor-in-chief at Ouest France, responsible for local and regional web/print news.

The awards ceremony

Once the call for applications is closed, the jury of experts will vote to select the winners in each category.

For this second edition, The Land is organizing the awards ceremony in an exceptional venue:

  • Located in Piré-Chancé, 25 minutes from Rennes, the Château des Pères is a place of art, culture, and gastronomy, dedicated to events and tourism.

The ceremony will be recorded and broadcast on TVR, Tébéo, and Tébésud.

In partnership with Ushuaïa TV.

A promising first edition

On April 7, 2022, the first ever "Les Coqs d'or de la Nouvelle Ruralité" awards ceremony took place. On this day, The Land, with the sponsorship of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and the members of the jury, rewarded initiatives, innovations, and businesses in rural areas.
