Testimonial: Josué's experience at The Land campus

Josué, a student at the ERE (School of Environmental Responsibility) on The Land Campus, shares his enriching academic and personal experience with us. Originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Josué joined the campus thanks to the Excellencia program . link Denise Nya-keru Tshisekedi Foundation's Excellencia program and stands out for his unique background combining studies, work experience, and involvement in projects. 

An international career

Josué begins his academic career in the Democratic Republic of Congo as part of the International Academy of Management program Excellentia (AIME), which trained him in global management issues. At the same time, he continued his distance learning by enrolling at the 3A Rennes school. on The Land Campus, an experience that allowed him to juggle practical and theoretical teaching while developing in an international environment. At the start of the 2024 academic year, he chose to specialize in a Master's degree in Strategic Environmental Issues at the ERE school, a program that perfectly matched his passion for environmental issues.

As part of his studies, Josué is a work-study student at Banque Populaire Caisse d’Épargne (Groupe BPCE), where he performs a variety of duties, including Community Manager and CSR Project Manager in the IT Services department. This combination of academic studies and professional experience allows him to fully engage in his learning and apply it directly in a practical context.

Integration and welcome on The Land Campus

Josué recalls his arrival on campus with enthusiasm: "The welcome was very warm. There was a team that helped us with the administrative procedures and also with settling in." The human aspect and mutual support among students are elements that particularly impressed him. "I was pleasantly surprised by the welcome I received from the students and staff on campus," he says.

Upon his arrival, Josué participated in various orientation events, which allowed him to meet other students from different backgrounds. “What impressed me most was the intercultural nature of the campus. There are students from Africa, Asia, and sometimes even speakers who are not from France," an essential point for Josué, who values cultural diversity.

Dynamic and interactive teaching methods

Josué particularly appreciates the campus's educational approach. "My classes are very interactive with the instructors. There are also group assignments and practical projects. The relationship with the professors is excellent, because they share their passions with us and support us in our projects," he explains.

For him, one of the major differences with his home country lies in the teaching method: "Here, there is more practical work during classes. We work in groups, and we feel that we are applying our knowledge in a concrete way. It's very stimulating."

He also highlights the support offered by the campus, especially for international students. "I received special support, particularly with French and administrative procedures, thanks to the campus social worker."

Practical projects and professional opportunities

Joshua is not only a student, he is also actively involved in practical projects related to his studies. He has participated in events such as the Cassava Festival, organized on campus, and in projects such as the creation of soft mobility plans for the company ADEOS.

I would tell students to go for it, because the experience on this campus is truly enriching and stimulating," he advises. He adds that the intercultural environment and the various support services offered by the campus have enabled him to develop many cross-disciplinary skills.

Living on campus: the Le Connect residence experience

Josué has been living at Le Connect residence for almost two years. He describes this residence as a pleasant and convenient place to live, which makes his daily life as a student easier. "The move went very smoothly. The reception staff guided us from day one and took care to show us how to use the different parts of our studio," he explains.

The Le Connect residence stands out for its friendly common areas, which encourage interaction between students. “There is a shared, friendly atmosphere among all the residents. We sometimes visit our neighbors to ask for a little something; it really is a community spirit."

Josué also benefits from the proximity between the residence and the classrooms, which allows him to get to class quickly: "It takes less than five minutes to get to the upper building, which is very convenient."

Josué's experience at The Land Campus is a model of success. Thanks to his academic commitment, his passion for environmental issues, and his international experience, he embodies the values of this dynamic, intercultural, and forward-looking campus.

“For me, the experience here has been a real opportunity to grow personally and professionally,”, concludes Josué.
