CSR ( Corporate Social Responsibility) has become a field in its own right in business development, combining environmental considerations and best practices. Natacha Arnaud-Battandier, lecturer at the ESCD 3A school on The Land campus and CSR manager at the Beaumanoir group, a flagship of the Breton textile industry, tells us about her role within the group.
5 brands for a core action plan
The CSR department works with the group and its brands (Cache-cache, Bononbo, Bréal, Morgan, Vib’s, La Halle) to define their CSR roadmap via a core action plan that determines the priority areas of work. Brands can also set their own objectives if they wish. The department encourages the involvement of its 4,400 employees by raising awareness of best practices through training for new hires and promoting eco-friendly practices.
The elimination of disposable plastic cups, for example, was one of the first actions taken by Natacha, who works toward overall consistency. "We are currently working with stores on renovations and improvements to energy and waste management in stores," Natacha explains, "with both ecological and economic benefits."
Natacha is also working on the group's DPEF* report. This requirement, which has been applicable to companies since 2017, aims to promote and accelerate awareness among companies and "place them in a virtuous cycle of environmental, social, and societal commitment."
