Getting ready for the start of the academic year at The Land campus: practical tips and advice

The start of the school year is a pivotal time for many students. At The Land Campus, where high school students, college students, and adults undergoing retraining come together, the 2025-2026 school year promises to be rich in educational projects, innovations, and opportunities. In order to start this new phase in the best possible conditions, good organization is essential.

Organize your daily life as a student

To quickly get into the swing of your studies, it is recommended that you get a head start by immersing yourself in the program of your next higher education course. Take the time to familiarize yourself with the different courses and options available so that you can make informed choices on the first day of school.

Also remember to register at the Rennes library, which will give you access to a wide range of books at low cost, essential for your research and revision.

Get to know your school

The Land Campus is more than just classrooms: it offers a unique learning environment, combining nature and innovation. When you arrive, take the time to explore the different areas: the educational greenhouse, the park, the relaxation areas, the co-working spaces, the cafeteria, the student services, the international relations office, and Connect, our student residence and event space.

Don't hesitate to find out more about your instructors and speakers. Learning about their backgrounds and areas of expertise can help you connect your interests with the courses on offer.

Plan your year

Use the documents provided by your school to draw up an annual schedule, including classes, exam periods, revision periods, and internships. Review your year's program and start thinking about the options you will need to choose.

Not feeling lonely or isolated is one of the keys to academic success. To quickly find your bearings on and off campus, don't hesitate to participate in organized activities. It's a great way to meet other students with similar interests.

Outside of campus, familiarize yourself with transportation, restaurants, local shops, and cafes.

Find your balance between studies and work

If you plan to work while studying, be careful not to overload your schedule. Many student jobs offer flexible hours so as not to interfere with class times. Good time management will help you avoid stress and maintain a healthy balance between studying and working.

Academic support

The pace of work in college is different from that in high school. If you need a helping hand, don't hesitate to seek academic support at the start of the school year. Whether it's to help you with a specific subject or to prepare for an English certification, personalized support can greatly facilitate your academic journey.

Home insurance for student housing

Explore all the options: student residence, private landlord, private residence, or even shared accommodation. Once you have found your accommodation, remember to take out home insurance. This is mandatory to cover rental risks (fire, explosion, water damage).

Our Le Connect residence offers student accommodation ranging from 20 m² to 30 m². The accommodation at Le Connect has been specially designed to offer students a harmonious living and study environment: a well-thought-out interior layout, natural light, suitable furniture, and high-speed internet access.
